I managed to get the teeth into the head earlier, after snapping one set, burning two, and recoating one to rebake. A set of teeth and installing them should not take me over two hours. They're in at least.
I got the mid layer for the feet done. I need to pick up some good cement to attach the shoes and then cut out the foam next. It's been about three years since I've made a set of feet. This time I've actually made a templates for each section and measurements. They should look awesome when they're done.

BEST...THEATER...EVER! I wish the Bow Tie would have counter tables and rolling office chairs here in Richmond. If you live near or in Williamsburg, VA, GO THERE!
I saw the film last night, and honestly I enjoyed it. I'll go with the quote, "Dances With Wolves In Space," but it worked. The cinematics did impress the hell out of me.
I thought the story worked, and at this stressful point in my life, it was a nice escape for the duration of the film. The characters had emotion and I thought it was well deployed. The only thing that kind of irked me was the head military guy, but I thought it was well acted. I recommend seeing it in 3-D to get the full effect. They wrapped it up well at the end also.
I'm not sure if I'd buy it on DVD or not, much much like seeing Coraline in 3-D and not quite having the experience on my screen at home, it's worth checking out Avatar while it's still in the theaters.
When Othello's finished I have lots of letters to write. I'm weird, as I don't like to mail cards, but I do enjoy receiving them. This holiday season I got two DVDs (Disney's Robin Hood and UP), body soap and body lotion, a panda thumb drive, a check, lots of notebooks, six rum cakes, vanilla cake, two pyrex measuring cups, a watercolor picture of Chilly, OMG FOOD, gloves (finger and fingerless), and movie vouchers.
I've sent out a few packages to friends and family.

Paul came to visit on Saturday. It was nice to see him again and lots of hanging out. We popped down to Williamsburg to visit Robert, and later JP and Heidi for a bit. Robert popped over Tuesday, along with two friends of Paul's from Fredricksburg.
Robert showed off his seatbelt shaped bruise. Thankfully, that was the only place where he was hurt, aside being a bit shaken up. The new car looked nice. He picked out a black 2006 Camry.
Goonie, my friend Tracy's African grey parrot, is over for a bit while I bird-sit. She's been nice to have over. I hear lots of digitized-voices, clicks, slide whistles, and chirps in the background.
Last night while offering to let her walk onto her arm, she bowed her head down and let me pet her. It was cool. I still get a kick out of watching her eat a peanut. She definitely took to Paul while he was over.
I picked up Chris from the airport. There was some traffic, so it took about 10 minutes longer to get there, and a backway home which took an extra 20 minutes rather than sitting in dead traffic.
I'll be working on a lot of costuming stuff tonight, so I will be off line for a while.
On a serious note, the hours where I "work" continue to become less and less. I am still looking for something stable to help with my situation, but after January I am not sure how much longer I'll be able to stay here.
Here's hoping.

OK this is a little over kill for the first real snow of the season and its not yet winter. Iam no complaining at all, i loved it! NWS forecast office in Mt. Holly issued many updates to there winder storm warning product as the storm approched from the south. Storm total predicted by the NWs ranged from 14 to 21 inches with locally heavier amounts of 24". We had received 14 here. Blizzard warning was never issued. The snow was light and fluffy which was good for easy removal. snow fall rates ranged fro 1 to 3 inches per hour during the height of the storm.
The snow removal operations here has ended and salting only where necessary.
After Action Report:
50 pounds rock salt used
80 pounds Magnesium/sodium Chloride Prills used
Walks and Driveway shoveled 4 times during the storm, salting were needed.
walks and driveway shoveled again at storms end, Salted to prevent icing and melt drifting snow.
Things we could have done better:
Have on hand more than 1 shovel
Have on hand 400 pounds salt.

A Request for Furst State Aid

One of our own Furst State members, Sunshadow, has recently suffered a tragic loss today. Her house was burned to the ground while she was out Christmas shopping with Setno. Thankfully nobody was hurt, and the insurance company has already agreed to rebuild their house and pay for their shelter until they can move back in.
As both members of The Furst State community and close friends of the community and fandom I feel we are compelled to keep them in our thoughts and prayers and if possible extend our own resources to them in this time of drastic need.
Close friends to Sunshadow's, Gavyn and WitchieBunny, have set up a donation paypal account where you can donate funds. These funds will help go to pay for expenses they may run into that the insurance company will not cover. Please, if you can spare even a dollar, it will be greatly appreciated. And if you can't spend a dollar, posting a reply offering encouraging words will show warm Furst State compassion.

There's probably 8 inches on the ground, and soon more on its way.
Brian managed to safely make it out here. We hung out at the house, and I made dinner for us. Company's always nice, particularly when it's too hazardous to go anywhere.
His flight to LAX was canceled, so he was able to reschedule it for this afternoon. We had a relaxing morning, breakfast, and then safely to the airport.
I shoved my walkway to the broken dust pan (I won during the fall), but I should invest in a new one and a shovel at some point. I'll post the photos from last night soon.
If you are CURRENTLY about to drive somewhere, Broad St. looks so so, Bethlehem looks okay, Libbie from Monument and northbound looks okay, and I-64-E from the City to the airport looks okay.
The sun earlier was trying to come out, so I think by the time I have to start my shift driving won't be too bad out.

Delaware Furbowl 12 which was scheduled for tonight is going to be cancelled. It's snowing here in Delaware and it's not showing signs of stopping anytime soon. I don't want folks risking their safety on the roads and I feel that the weather is causing unsafe driving conditions.
Again sorry for any inconvenience, and sorry to those that were really looking forward to this month's event.
I'll be hosting the next furbowl, Delaware Furbowl 12.5, next month on Saturday January 30th! I hope all of you that signed up can make it then!
Be safe out there and happy holidays!

DE Furbowl 12 Snow Alert

With the recent weather warnings and the rising severity of the current snow threat I have decided to put the upcoming Furbowl on cancellation notice. I don't want anyone to risk driving in the snow and getting hurt over my furbowls. I apologize to anyone who has made special plans for this event, or had to ask for the time off, but the weather just isn't wanting to play nice at the moment.
It isn't canceled yet , but prepare yourself for that high possibility. By noontime tomorrow I will be able to give you a straight answer on whether the events are still occurring or if I'm canceling it. If it is canceled I will try to message everyone personally to let you know as such. I don't want you to come all this way only to find out it's canceled once you show up at the alley (in suit).
Keep an eye on LJ to remain abreast of the situation.
Here are the links that I will be basing my decisions off of.

UPS called me at 8AM to let me know a package was here but they missed me.
Unless it's one in particular I'm expecting, I am not sure why I wouldn't have had a note left outside, and why I got a phone call about it.
